Thank you for a great site. You have provided quite a bit of information on planetary photography. I am about to get started. My equipment (whihc I have yet to take out of the box) is a Meade 12" sct ota, Losmandy Titan mount. Soon to arrive Orion Starshoot solar system camera.

Hi Oliver. regarding the long-exposure mod, I now also think that you should connect the ccd side of that track after cutting it through a 10k resistor to ground just to be safe from static buildup.
My camera worked fine for more than a year with that mod and then stopped in a similar way to yours and I now suspect static was the reason, but I'm not sure. regards, Anthony |
