I met Jimmy with The Grandmothers in Utrecht in februari 1994, a few months after Frank died. We had an interesting conversation, but a sweet young thing distracted him after a while.
Now I just found out that he died. He did get his beer, but I don't think he got paid... |

jimmy carl black was a hell of an drummer and vocalist im stll struggling with the fact that he is no longer with us god rest his soul.jimmy carl black was one solid cool guy.at least he is not suffeing anymore from the ravages of cancer and is finally at rest but that doesn't make it any easier letting go. rest in eternal peace papa jim love ya and your absence will always profoundly felt, you were the best.

I grew up with the music of the Mothers of Invention, which meant growing up with Jimmy Carl Black. I loved them all and saw them once, when Chuck Berry had the opening band. Black was great on Uncle Meat, crabbing about how they were starving.
He was one of the coolest guys who ever lived. |
