8 days was not long enough. The view with the beautiful sunrises made it the best choice on the island. Add that to 5 mins to Salt Pond Bay and a day on Sue and Dan's sailboat, Shakti, and you can't beat it.

My husband, myself and our 2 daughters (ages 16 and 12) spent the week of Aug 10-Aug 17 at Horizons Cottage. This was our first time on St. John. We had great weather and we think Horizons is one of the best spots on the island. We really enjoyed Lucky the cat, got a kick out of the island donkeys, goats and all the natural beauty that St. John has to offer. We hope to get back again some day.

Fantastic view, cool breeze, crystal clear water, lovely house - made it perfect for our family. We had a wonderful time exploring the beaches, horseback riding, sailing and long lunches at Miss Lucy's Shipwreck and Skinny Legs! Great snorkeling and swimming, and our girls spent many afternoons building hotels for the hermit crabs! Can't wait to go again. Thanks so much!

We have been all around the Caribbean and St John's is our favorite by far. Captain's Cabin was adorable, quiet, and the pictures of the views don't come close to doing it justice! It was remote enough to feel like you've got away, but a short drive to beautiful beaches and some great restaurants. We can't wait to return next year.

We had a wonderful time in St John's at The Captain's Cabin. The cottage is the perfect size for two people and has such a charming homey feel to it. Sue, who by the way, is a delight to do business with, sent informative e-mails and provided several informational books and also a guest diary, with comments and memories of previous guests, which were extremely helpful in deciding what to do when in St John. To sit out on the wrap-around porch and watch the sunrise or sunset is breathtaking. You realize then, that you are truly in paradise. Unlike a crowded, expensive resort, if you want to experience the true magic of St John, staying in a hillside cottage overlooking The Caribbean Sea and the islands, The Captain's Cabin is definitely where you want to stay. We can't wait to go back again. Thank you Sue for allowing us to stay there.

Horizons Cottage was exactly as the website pictured it - up on the hillside overlooking the beautiful Caribbean with a few other cottages nearby with plenty of space and privacy.

We did a little shopping but a lot of the essentials were already there, so it worked out very nicely.

I'll never forget the views, the stars and wonderful sea breezes. Enjoy!

After living in the Virgin Isles for ten years and returning as tourists every two years, we have found that Horizons has filled the void that we were looking for.
As former sailors, we like to spend a week sailing and a week at a spot with a beautiful view, seclusion, and comfort. The Horizon fills the bill. We will take advantage of Susan Littlefield's hospitality many more times and recommend her cottages to everyone.

We came to relax and snorkel. We most definitely came to the right place! We especially loved Waterlemon, Lameshur and Salt Pond for snorkeling but hit the north Shore beaches as well. we had Little Lameshur all to ourselves for over 3 hours. Thank you, Sue, for leaving the great guidebooks for guest's use. They really helped.
We've been coming to the Caribbean for many years but have never made it to St. John. Now, it's doubtful we'll ever go anywhere else. we'll be back next year and bring some more family with us...

Horizons was the perfect place for us to celebrate our honeymoon. We look forward to coming back to celebrate our anniversaries. The views are breathtaking, how can one have an unpleasant thought while you just have to look outside to see heaven on Earth.
Our trip was amazing and the last day we went to the BVI's with Captain Clarke and another newlywed couple. The snorkeling was great out at sea.
Please don't forget to feed Lucky, the cat. He will meow promptly in the morning to remind you. He's a sweetheart and seems to like a little attention. This place just seemed to feel like home and we are very sad to leave St. John

We absolutely adore the Captain's Cabin! It was wonderful to sleep to the sound of the waves and be awakened by the sun rising over East End. Coral Bay is a lovely place.

Sue, Thanks for providing the great books and making us feel at home. We definitely want to come back.
